Terms of Service
These Terms apply to your use of Discord bots and related services operated by Brits PvE, including Cat Bot, Link Bot, and the BritRust Ticket System (together, the “Services”). By adding, interacting with, or otherwise using any of the Services, you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
The Services are provided by Brits PvE (“we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms govern your access to and use of our Discord bots, associated websites, account-linking tools, ticket systems, and related features.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. It forms part of these Terms.
2. Eligibility
You must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. You must be at least 13 years old to use Discord and our Services. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to use the Services.
3. The Services
Our Services currently include:
- Cat Bot — a Discord entertainment bot that responds to commands and interactions in participating servers.
- Link Bot — a Discord bot and account-linking service that connects Discord accounts with Steam accounts for community verification and related features, including via link.britspve.com.
- BritRust Ticket System — a Discord support ticket bot and web portal used for player support, staff workflows, applications, and ticket transcripts.
Features may vary by server, role, or configuration. We may add, change, suspend, or remove features at any time.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services for any unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, or fraudulent purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems, bots, databases, or staff tools.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Services, including through spam, automation abuse, or exploits.
- Submit false, misleading, or impersonated information in tickets, applications, or link requests.
- Circumvent verification, moderation, linking, or access controls.
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or misuse APIs or web endpoints except as expressly permitted.
- Use the Services in a way that violates applicable law or third-party rights.
We and participating community staff may restrict, remove, or refuse access to the Services where we reasonably believe these Terms, server rules, or applicable law have been breached.
5. Discord and third-party platforms
The Services operate through Discord and may integrate with third-party platforms such as Steam, BattleMetrics, and other tools used for community management. Your use of those platforms is also governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
6. Account linking and verification
Where you use Link Bot or related verification features, you represent that the Discord and Steam accounts you link belong to you, or that you are authorised to link them. We may remove links, revoke roles, or take other action if we believe linking information is false, duplicated, abusive, or obtained improperly.
7. Support tickets, applications, and staff processes
When you open a ticket, submit an application, or communicate with staff through the BritRust Ticket System, you agree that:
- Information you provide may be reviewed by authorised staff.
- Messages and attachments may be stored, logged, and used to handle your request.
- Staff decisions regarding support, moderation, applications, or access are made at our discretion or that of participating community administrators, subject to applicable law.
- Transcripts and records may be retained after a ticket is closed, as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Entertainment features and AI-generated content
Cat Bot and certain other features may generate humorous, fictional, or automated responses. These responses are provided for entertainment only. They do not constitute professional, legal, medical, or safety advice. AI-generated output may be inaccurate, inappropriate, or unpredictable despite safeguards. You use such features at your own discretion.
9. Availability and changes
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Services. Maintenance, outages, Discord API changes, hosting issues, or moderation actions may affect availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time.
10. Intellectual property
The Services, including bot software, branding, website content, and documentation, are owned by or licensed to Brits PvE. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive right to use the Services only as intended. You must not copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission.
You retain ownership of content you submit, but you grant us a licence to use, store, reproduce, and process that content as needed to operate the Services, enforce these Terms, and comply with law.
11. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the Services will meet your requirements, be secure, or be free from defects or harmful components.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Subject to the above, Brits PvE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or community access arising from your use of the Services.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Services shall not exceed £100, except where a higher minimum liability applies by law.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brits PvE from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services or breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our negligence or breach of these Terms.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access where we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, server rules, or applicable law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will be updated when changes take effect. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Services.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
